Congress on Monday hit back at Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for claiming that the grand old party has been relegated to the history in the state and Delhi.
Congress also alleged the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had “similar ideologies – a mission for a Congress-free India.”
Taking a swipe at Mann, Khera said, “By the way, the name of a Bhojpuri picture is ‘Ek Tha Joker’. You must have seen it?”

The exchange comes in the backdrop of Mann’s earlier statement where he suggested that the Congress had become a relic of the past in Punjab and Delhi.
On Monday, while addressing a press conference, Mann had said, “In Punjab and Delhi, mothers can tell the world’s shortest story to their children – Ek Thi Congress (there was once a Congress).”
The Chief Minister’s remark came when asked about the reported reluctance of state Congress leaders to have an alliance with AAP.
Earlier, when asked about the issue of seat adjustment among INDIA bloc partners, Mann said these matters would be discussed in the alliance meeting and added, “Only after things are finalised will we be able to tell”.
Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is in power in Delhi and Punjab, and the Congress are among the 28 constituents of the INDIA bloc formed to take on the BJP in the upcoming general elections.
