iQOO Z7 5G has officially been launched in India at a starting price of 18,999 (6GB/128GB). The new “budget” phone brings a Super AMOLED display, Dimensity 920, 64MP OIS camera, and 44W fast charging for under Rs 20,000 making it one of, if not the most, powerful and feature-packed devices to launch in India at the time of writing.

The iQOO Z7 5G has a flat-edged design made of plastic. The phone comes in two colours: Norway Blue and Pacific Night. It weighs 173g and measures 7.8mm. An interesting thing to note is that the Z7 is also IP54 certified.

You get a 6.38-inch 1080p AMOLED display in this phone with a 90Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1300nits. The screen is protected by Schott Xensation glass. The phone has a waterdrop-style notch, which could be a bit polarising.

Under the hood, you get MediaTek’s Dimensity 920 processor mated to up to 8GB of RAM and 12GB of storage. Phones with the D20 have so far come in at upwards of Rs 20,000, so the Z6 does stand out from the crowd in this regard, making a high-end chipset available to the masses. Running the show is Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13. The phone is guaranteed to get 2 major OS and 3 years of security updates.

For photography, you get a 64MP main Samsung GW3 sensor which sits behind an optically stabilised lens. OIS phones are rare under Rs 20,000, so here too, the iQOO Z7 makes a strong impression at least on paper. The phone has another 2MP portrait camera on the back and a 16MP shooter for selfies.
