Galaxy M14 5G is your typical Samsung M-series phone which is to say it has a big battery— bigger than most phones in its class— and ample performance to get you through multiple days on a single charge with barely an issue. The specs, in addition to that, are also fairly decent for a phone under Rs 15,000 making the M14 a viable choice for anybody looking for a no-nonsense phone on a tight budget.

Since battery is the biggest draw, let’s start with that. The M14 has a 6,000mAh battery which is big enough to take you through 2-days with ease on moderate day-to-day use. Even with extensive use, the M14 can last for over a day, making it a no-brainer if long-lasting battery life is your biggest priority.

You get support for 25W Type-C fast charging in the M14 but be sure that there is no charger in the box. To be able to use fast charging, you’ll have to invest in a compliant charger separately. The phone only ships with Type-C to Type-C cable in the box.

Powering the M14 5G is Samsung’s Exynos 1330 5nm processor which works mostly well for everyday use, though demanding tasks do tend to slow it down and also throttle which is to say, this is not a phone for competitive gaming. On AnTuTu, the phone scored 3,96,843 which is respectable at the phone’s pricing.

Samsung is offering the M14 in a choice of either 4GB/128GB or 6GB/128GB. Storage expansion is available.

The M14 5G has a 6.6-inch PLS LCD display (an IPS-type made by Samsung itself) with 1080p resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. Aside from the wide chunky bezels, which are typical for most phones at its price, and a dated waterdrop-style notch, there are no major red flags with the screen. It gets nice and bright and shows good colours.

8/10

For photography, the M14 has a 50MP main camera which takes surprisingly good photos for its price with rich colours and decent detail output. This is paired to two more 2MP sensors, one for depth and another for macros. They are barely serviceable, though they should suffice for basic social media. The 13MP front camera takes good selfies especially when you give it lots of light.

9/10

The M14 has a headphone jack but has to make do with a mono speaker setup. Biometrics are handled by a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

10/10

Samsung Galaxy M14 5G price in India starts at Rs 13,490 for 4GB/128GB. The top-end model with 6GB/128GB will set you back by Rs 14,990.
