The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at approximately 31 locations in Haryana and Rajasthan on Wednesday in connection with suspects allegedly linked to the murder of Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, who was shot dead at his Jaipur residence on December 5.
The ongoing searches targeted individuals believed to have connections with the murder case of the chief of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena (SRRKS), which was filed last month following orders from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The action came shortly after the NIA took over the case from the Rajasthan police. Suspicions of involvement by high-profile gangsters in the murder prompted the transfer of authority, as ANI reported.

Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi murder case
The Karni Sena president was shot dead on December 5 at his Jaipur residence in Rajasthan in a daylight killing carried out by three assailants. Shortly after the murder, gangster Rohit Godara, linked with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the killing of Gogamedi.
Subsequently, the shooters, identified as Rohit Rathore and Nitin Fauji, were apprehended on December 9 in Chandigarh.

During interrogation, they disclosed Godara’s involvement in orchestrating the murder. Investigations also revealed that while on the run, the shooters maintained contact with Godara’s associates Virendra and Danaram.
The motive behind the murder was suspected to be extorting money from certain businessmen, which led to an altercation between Godara and Gogamedi. Additionally, another woman, along with her husband, was arrested for allegedly providing weapons and arranging accommodation in connection with the case. One of the three shooters involved died during the gunfire.
The CCTV footage depicted two individuals firing multiple shots at the Karni Sena chief and a third individual stood at the door. Gogamedi collapsed from the gunshot wounds and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
