Passengers booking Air India flights can also book cab rides and make hotel reservations on the airline’s revamped website, sources said. Sources told FE that the Tata-Group-owned airline is holding talks with third-party agencies to be able to offer such services.
The airline said its aim is to collaborate with different brands to optimise passenger convenience and be a one-stop shop for most travel requirements. “Air India will explore more about providing ancillary services in the days to come. It is entering various collaborations on a sustained basis,” an airline official told FE.
The airline said the first roll-out of such value-added services across its network is ‘Book-A-Cab’ for passengers travelling to and from domestic airports.
Air India said that it will offer such airport transfer services across most domestic airports via a verified and safe on-ground mobility partner network for convenience and timely transfer to the airport.
This would make passengers’ journey to and from airports “a remarkably smooth and pleasant experience, at affordable prices”, it said.
The airline added that on this platform, passengers can choose from a wide range of vehicles, including hatchbacks, sedans, MUV-SUVs, premium EV cars, luxury vans and luxury coaches for group bookings. “It would also be possible to book rentals and outstation rides anywhere in the country,” the airline said.
