Indian Railways is developing a ‘Super App’ that will offer users real-time updates on train tracking status, ticket booking, complaint registration, and other features. The application will be accessible on both Android and iOS platforms through the respective app stores.
The railway’s goal is to consolidate all existing apps, currently numbering over 10, which cater to various services such as ticket booking, food ordering, and inquiries, into a single platform for the convenience of travelers. These apps are the IRCTC app, Rail Saarthi, Indian Railways PNR, National Train Enquiry System, Rail Madad, UTS, Food on Track, etc.
The Railway authorities are required to allocate approximately Rs 90 crore for the development and operation of the ‘Super App’ over a span of three years.
Among the exciting apps by Indian Railways, IRCTC Rail Connect emerges as the predominant choice, garnering a user base exceeding 100 million downloads and serving as the exclusive platform for booking reserved tickets. In contrast, UTS, boasting over 10 million downloads, specialises in providing platform tickets and season passes.
